MISSION STATEMENT

This website is to serve as a catalog of historical information for various tanks, across various stages of development, created for use by the United States from Pre-WWII through to the 1970s. However, the primary purpose for this website is to illustrate a proposal for what an "endgame" could look like for the US tech tree in the game, World Of Tanks, and to show that there's still plenty of life left to breathed into this game.

My aim is to see as many tanks in the game about tanks as possible, and I hope to show that in a way that respects both the historicity of the tanks shown and the balance of the game overall. As such, I will not be going into great detail on individual statistics. Rather, I will only be showing the possible modules for each tank, changes that could be made to make it more historically authentic, a historical overview, and how the tank's playstyle may be represented in-game. I will also attempt to future-proof this by including alternate hulls, half-tracks, and wheeled vehicles.

This is certainly not perfect and everything is subject to change. This is still a work in progress, and updates are frequent if not daily. This is a fan project and a labor of love. Do enjoy.

M41UR

Uruguay's armored forces were severely lacking in capability for the better part of the 20th century; they were mostly reliant on used M3 Light tanks and M24 Chaffees until around 1981, where they finally acquired a respectable tank for the modern era. These were heavily modified M41A1 Walker Bulldogs exported from Belgium.

The tanks, known as the M41U or M41UR, had their 76 mm guns replaced by the new 90 mm Cockerill Mk. IV. They also had new, thicker armor plates added to the front of the vehicle for improved protection. The Brazilian Bernardini company, who had previously modified Brazil's own fleet of M41 Bulldogs, also assisted Uruguay by installing their own diesel engines as they did on their own M41Bs and M41Cs.

The M41UR is probably the most advanced variation of the M41 Bulldog built. The tank measures 7.03 meters long, 3.26 meters wide, and 2.73 meters high, with an estimated combat weight of about 25 metric tons. Its gun would have a shell loadout of HEAT/HESH/HE, whose shells could fly at 1000, 792, and 730 m/s respectively.

Unlike the M41C, X1A2, and M24 Tensa, the M41UR does not have a slow shell travel speed. Coupling this with a standard HEAT round, the M41UR is a very dangerous light tank. It would have perhaps the highest penetrating standard round of any of the Tier X light tanks currently in the game. With a respectable rate of fire, handling, and mobility, this tank would be incredibly versatile.

  1. I think the work you have done gathering info is something worth of praise BUT I do not agree with your addition of machines there were modified outside the US and were never even tested by the US military
on the other hand I would agree with seeig them as premiums, especially those than can be used to attract players from latin-american countries for their server, but I'm not sure people from all of those countries would like to see teir tanks in the US TT, for WG it would probably be worth addng a TRUE MERCENARY TT with only premium tanks from those countries
tanks like the Nahuel, the TAM, the X1A, the Chilean M113 armed with the italo-Israeli 60mm Hyper-velocity AT gun, etc
