MISSION STATEMENT

This website is to serve as a catalog of historical information for various tanks, across various stages of development, created for use by the United States from Pre-WWII through to the 1970s. However, the primary purpose for this website is to illustrate a proposal for what an "endgame" could look like for the US tech tree in the game, World Of Tanks, and to show that there's still plenty of life left to breathed into this game.

My aim is to see as many tanks in the game about tanks as possible, and I hope to show that in a way that respects both the historicity of the tanks shown and the balance of the game overall. As such, I will not be going into great detail on individual statistics. Rather, I will only be showing the possible modules for each tank, changes that could be made to make it more historically authentic, a historical overview, and how the tank's playstyle may be represented in-game. I will also attempt to future-proof this by including alternate hulls, half-tracks, and wheeled vehicles.

This is certainly not perfect and everything is subject to change. This is still a work in progress, and updates are frequent if not daily. This is a fan project and a labor of love. Do enjoy.

TS-9

In June 1954, the third Questionmark Conference took place to review the progress made since the first two conferences in 1952. During this meeting, nine medium tank concepts were presented as possible replacements for the M48 Patton, five of which were considered short-term proposals that would have an estimated development cycle of two years.

Three of these vehicles was the TS-9. Compared to the other designs, the size and weight of this vehicle was dramatically reduced. It still used the 90 mm Gun T139, but it used the more compact AOI-628-1 engine and was estimated to weigh only 25 tons. The tank was shortened, eliminating one of the road wheels and increasing the angle of the front plate to 65 degrees. The armor thickness was 3 inches thick, double that of the TS-4.

Compared to the TS-4/3, the TS-9 simply has a smaller profile and a bit worse armor. The power-to-weight ratio is very similar and the armor is somewhere in between the TS-4/3's two hull options. Similarly, the TS-9 would also be rather agile, but lack in protection—especially of the turret.

Guns: 90 mm Gun T139

Engines: Continental AOI-628-1 (340 hp)

Turrets (Turret Armor (mm)): TS-4 9 (76/??/??)

Suspensions/Alternate Hulls, Total Weight (metric tons): TS-9 (22.68)

Hull Armor (mm): 76/??/??

Top Speed: ?? km/h

Crew: 4 (Driver; Gunner; Loader; Commander/Radio)
