MISSION STATEMENT

This website is to serve as a catalog of historical information for various tanks, across various stages of development, created for use by the United States from Pre-WWII through to the 1970s. However, the primary purpose for this website is to illustrate a proposal for what an "endgame" could look like for the US tech tree in the game, World Of Tanks, and to show that there's still plenty of life left to breathed into this game.

My aim is to see as many tanks in the game about tanks as possible, and I hope to show that in a way that respects both the historicity of the tanks shown and the balance of the game overall. As such, I will not be going into great detail on individual statistics. Rather, I will only be showing the possible modules for each tank, changes that could be made to make it more historically authentic, a historical overview, and how the tank's playstyle may be represented in-game. I will also attempt to future-proof this by including alternate hulls, half-tracks, and wheeled vehicles.

This is certainly not perfect and everything is subject to change. This is still a work in progress, and updates are frequent if not daily. This is a fan project and a labor of love. Do enjoy.

The US Tech Tree

Check the "List of Tanks" tab for a directory on every tank listed in the tree below.

Without further adieu, here's my proposal for what an "endgame" US tech tree can look like. The search function works, so if there's a particular tank you want to see please type its name below into the search bar.

  • I am assuming anything is permitted for revision. This includes shuffling a tank's tier, class, and even premium status. Cases where this kind of thing happens will include possible methods of player compensation within the body of the respective articles.
  • I tried to arrange the tech tree so that it's pleasing to look at aesthetically, easy to follow, sensible, and so every branch is in some fashion connected to another.
  • I wanted to avoid giving tiers two premium tanks of the same class. However, I also made sure that the Tier Xs of each class had at least one premium tank with a readily compatible structure of crew members. In total, each class should have four regularly available premium tanks.
  • "Special Tanks" refers to vehicles that, for whatever reason, wouldn't be available for purchase in-game. This can include, but isn't limited to: vehicles that are reward tanks, available only for limited sale in the Premium Shop, or are gifts. Naturally, any premium tank in the tech tree can be a special tank, and vice versa. The current positions are merely my opinions.
  • Whenever possible, I will try to rebalance tanks with preferential matchmaking so that they become viable at higher tiers, in return for losing their preferential matchmaking.
  • Armored Cars (and presumably Half-Tracks) have as of yet to be 100% confirmed for the game, despite being alluded to on multiple occasions, and even implemented at one point as special game mode. So I included them here, just in case. But they can still be omitted.

  1. Hello I know insider TAP news cannot be fully reliable but at least from what I have last heard alternate hulls were scrapped in favor of 3D customization (customization 2.0) but otherwise this is a great tech tree and great improvement to the American tech tree we have now and for armoured cars it seems that they were confirmed for next year or 2020 but as I said not sure if it true or not
