MISSION STATEMENT

This website is to serve as a catalog of historical information for various tanks, across various stages of development, created for use by the United States from Pre-WWII through to the 1970s. However, the primary purpose for this website is to illustrate a proposal for what an "endgame" could look like for the US tech tree in the game, World Of Tanks, and to show that there's still plenty of life left to breathed into this game.

My aim is to see as many tanks in the game about tanks as possible, and I hope to show that in a way that respects both the historicity of the tanks shown and the balance of the game overall. As such, I will not be going into great detail on individual statistics. Rather, I will only be showing the possible modules for each tank, changes that could be made to make it more historically authentic, a historical overview, and how the tank's playstyle may be represented in-game. I will also attempt to future-proof this by including alternate hulls, half-tracks, and wheeled vehicles.

This is certainly not perfect and everything is subject to change. This is still a work in progress, and updates are frequent if not daily. This is a fan project and a labor of love. Do enjoy.

T23 Pilot #1

The first pilot of the T23 medium tank was completed in January 1943. The electrical drive of the T1E1 was modified for use with the Ford GAN engine. With this system, it was possible to run the engine at its most efficient speed at all times, and had a maximum speed of 35 mph (or 56 km/h). Unlike the T20, the T23 was fitted with the same vertical volute spring suspension found on the M4 medium tanks.

Pilot number 1 was completed before decisions reached based on lessons learned from the T20 and T22 were put into effect. As such, the tank varied from all others in the T20 family by having a welded turret. The turret itself evolved as a development to mount the 76 mm Gun T1, which was going through testing on an M4A1. However, modifications to the gun would create the 76 mm M1A1, which would be mounted first on this pilot vehicle.

The T23 Pilot #1 would fit for a decent Tier VI premium tank, in my opinion. Compared to the T22, it's notably faster and more mobile, but it carries the 76 mm M1A1, not the improved M1A2. The tank could be balanced by having worse gun handling than the T22, based on the experimental nature of its turret.
